About the Downtown Community Partnership…

The Downtown Community Partnership is dedicated to the ongoing development of a vital, vibrant city center serving the people of Fargo-Moorhead as well as the entire population of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

We use a comprehensive, multi-front approach to downtown redevelopment, incorporating efforts in four distinct areas to build downtown.

Organization

Organizing and implementing a cooperative effort among government, business and property owners, civic groups and individual citizens for the common goal of a vital, vibrant Downtown.

Promotion

Promoting Downtown through aggressive, targeted activities, including special events and festivals, promotions to boost retail sales, cooperative advertising and coordinated marketing of the entire Downtown district.

Design

Designing a physically attractive Downtown that works … including building structures, landscaping, window displays, lighting and streetscape amenities … enhancing the public's perceptions of the area and their desire to live, work, shop and play here.

Business Improvement

Improving and growing Downtown's economic base by actively working to retain existing businesses and to recruit new businesses … providing assistance with development plans and financial packaging to ensure a balanced mix of shopping and services. A professional full-time staff assists the Board of Directors and hundreds of volunteers to carry out this mission. The Downtowns of Fargo and Moorhead combine to offer a thriving metropolitan center, joined together by an emerging urban riverfront that captures the best of the Red River's natural beauty. Downtown is inviting, clean and safe filled with a friendly assortment of shops, restaurants, coffee houses, theaters, studios, and galleries. The greater community of Fargo-Moorhead is the center of commerce and industry for the entire region, with special attention given to preserving the qualities and values that make this a great place to raise families and to enjoy fulfilled lives.
